The internet has changed significantly over the years, starting from its formation , the advent of world wide web, email, social media etc. It has enhanced communications amongst people all over the globe. Internet of things is the application of this technology in machines and other non human things. This event will cover the journey the internet has taken up to what we should expect in the future, with a special emphasis on virtualized wireless sensor networks for heterogenous IoT applications. .

Malvin Nkomo is an electronic engineer by training, academic by passion, a data scientist and an entrepreneur at heart. He is the Founder of Hailer Technologies, a pan-African on-demand mobility service. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Johannesburg, in the research area of advanced wireless sensor networks and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Earned an MSc Degree in Information and Communication Engineering specialising in Robotics from Shandong University of Science and Technology in Shandong, China. He has a vast industry experience in the field of embedded systems design having started his career as a junior embedded design engineer at MH Automation to a seasoned research and development electronic engineer at Econet Wireless. He is a self-taught data scientist, an IoT evangelist and a strong proponent of disruptive technologies that are sweeping across various industries. He is a strong advocate of entrepreneurship in the domain of Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning related disciplines because data products are driving the next industrial revolution leveraging on converging internet technologies.
